AMI offers prospective adoptive parents assistance with adoption process.from Russia. Under the auspices of an accredited adoption agency AMI guides and helps parents through every step of the adoption process in Russia. Experienced adoption attorneys and interpreters, work to help make families adoption from Russia a positive experience. They travel with the adoptive families and assist them throughout all the steps required to finalize the adoption. They continously monitor the local scene and insure that our U.S. office is aware of any changes in government adoption policies and procedures, so we can act accordingly for the benefit of the children and adoptive parents.

Infants 9 months of age and up, toddlers, and children up to 16 years of age. Sibling groups are available.

Parent Qualifications:

Married couples and single women accepted. Must be less than 60 years old. Families with other children accepted.

After dossier is approved in Russia then parents are invited to travel. Parents travel to Russia to identify a child.

Processing Time:

Infant boys 12-14 months; infant girls 15 months and up Orphans are required to be on a central data bank registry for at least 6 months. Priority is given to Russian citizens.

Travel Requirements:

Once the dossier is completed and approved in Russia one or both parents may travel to Russia to identify a child. A second trip by both parents is required for the court hearing. The length of stay varies by region, from 2-3 weeks.
